The final battle of Megiddon

The battle of Megiddon (米吉多)

The Lord told Ezekiel concerning the final battle before the end of the world: “Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (瑪各地的歌革,就是羅施、米設、土巴的王), and prophesy against him…Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal…I will bring thee forth, and all thine army…even a great company with bucklers and shields…Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya (波斯人、古實人和弗人(註:又作“利比亞人”)) with them; all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee…in the latter years thou shalt come into the land…against the mountains of Israel…Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee…thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army. And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee (在你身上顯為聖的時候), O Gog, before their eyes (在外邦人眼前)…at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel…my fury shall come up in my face…Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel…And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains…And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself (顯為聖); and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord…Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee…Thou shalt fall upon the open field…And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles (海島安然居住的人); and they shall know that I am the Lord…Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken.” (Ezek 38:1-39:8)

The Lord also told Zechariah of the battle of Megiddon: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone (重石頭) for all people…all the people of the earth be gathered together against it… In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire (火盆) among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf (如火把在禾捆裡); and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem…In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem…In that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem…In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon (哈達臨門) in the valley of Megiddon (米吉多).” (Zech 12:2-11) “Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled (被搶奪), and the women ravished (玷污); and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst (從中間分裂) thereof toward the east and toward the west (自東至西), and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal (亞薩): yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee” (Zech 14:1-5)
